Eid Al Adha holidays announced for GCC Countries

Eid al-Adha (also known as Feast of Sacrifice), is one of the most important religious festivals celebrated by Muslims worldwide. This festival holds deep significance and is marked by various rituals and acts of devotion when it falls on the 10th day of the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah.

United Arab Emirates (UAE)

The UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has announced the official Eid Al Adha holidays for the private sector. Employees will get a four-day break to mark Arafat Day — the holiest day in Islam — and Eid Al Adha, also known as the festival of sacrifice. The break will be from Tuesday, 27 June 2023 to Friday, 30 June 2023.

Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia has announced Eid Al Adha 2023, following the sighting of the Dhul Al Hijjah crescent moon in the Kingdom. Arafat Day will fall on Tuesday, 27 June 2023, and Eid Al Adha will begin on Wednesday, 28 June 2023, and end on Saturday, 01 July 2023.

Kuwait

In a Cabinet meeting, officials of the Gulf country confirmed the dates for the Islamic holiday. “State offices will be closed from Arafat Day on Tuesday, 27 June 2023 until Sunday, 2 July 2023.

Qatar

The Amiri Diwan announces that on the occasion of the advent of the blessed Eid Al-Adha, the Eid holiday in Qatar starts from Tuesday, 27 June 2023 to Monday, 03 July 2023, this means that the Eid holidays will be 7 days.

Bahrain

According to this circular, Bahrain’s ministries and public institutions will be off for Arafat Day, Eid Al Adha, and two days after that. The Eid Al Adha break in the Kingdom will start from Tuesday, 27 June 2023 until Sunday, 02 July 2023.

Oman

Eid Al Adha holiday for employees in the State’s Administrative Apparatus and other legal entities, as well as establishments of the private sector, will start on Tuesday, 27 June 2023 to Saturday, 01 June 2023. Work shall be resumed on Sunday, 2 July 2023.
